Woolly, versatile and full of natural character, Shepherd is a beautiful breed-specific yarn for knitters who love the feel and behaviour of untreated wool.

Made from 100% non-superwash Corriedale wool, Shepherd has a lovely balance of softness, bounce and woolly texture. At 25 micron, it retains the character you'd expect from a natural wool while still creating a comfortable, wearable fabric.

With 400 metres per 100g, Shepherd is a versatile 4 ply that's equally at home in garments, colourwork, shawls and textured knitting.

Each skein is hand-dyed in small batches in Ballarat.

Care

Hand wash gently in cool water with a suitable wool detergent. Avoid excessive agitation, wringing or twisting. Dry flat.

As Shepherd is a non-superwash wool, take a little extra care when washing to avoid felting.

A Note About Hand-Dyed Yarn

Every skein is dyed by hand, so colour can vary slightly from skein to skein. If your project requires more than one skein, alternating skeins every few rows will help blend any variations beautifully.

Non-superwash wool can take colour differently from superwash bases, giving Shepherd its own beautiful character even when dyed in a familiar Cow Cat Creations colourway.
